  • Who can enroll?

    Montserrat Wintersession courses are open to Montserrat students, visiting students from other institutions, and the general public. Our courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Adults and high school students with any level of art experience and interest are welcome to register for these college-level courses, though it is recommended that you have had some experience with the media used.

  • Pricing

    Our Wintersession courses are priced individually and at competitive rates for both non-credit and credit. Please refer to the course description page for full pricing information. Students are encouraged to sign up as early as possible. We also offer generous discounts for eligible, non-credit participants (see 'discount' section). and if you feel you may qualify for a discount, please contact the Continuing Education Department at 978.921.4242 x1202 prior to submitting payment to confirm your eligibility.

  • Housing

    We regret that at this time housing is not available for visiting students or members of the public. If you would like assistance in locating accommodation during your stay, please contact the Continuing Education Department at 978.921.4242 x1202 or ce@montserrat.edu.

    However, housing is available to continuing Montserrat College of Art undergraduate students. To learn more, inquire at Student Services.

  • Materials and Travel Expenses

    Students are responsible for providing their own supplies and/or travel costs to and from field trip destinations for Montserrat Wintersession courses, unless otherwise stated in the course description.You will be sent a detailed materials list prior to the start of the course, and your instructor will also provide you with the information on the first day of class. There are several nearby art supply stores to fulfill your needs. Please note travel programs have many exceptions, and you should refer to the course description page for details.

  • Class Locations

    Unless otherwise noted, all courses meet at Montserrat College of Art's Hardie Building, located at 23 Essex Street, Beverly, MA. Your exact schedule and location of class will be confirmed prior to the start of each course.

  • Parking

    Parking is available behind the Hardie Building during Winter Session. There is ample on-street parking in the vicinity of the college.

  • Policy of Non-Discrimination

    Montserrat College of Art does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability in the admission and access to its programs and activities.

  • Discounts

    There are no discounts for Wintersession courses.

  • Low Enrollment Course Cancellation

    The college reserves the right to cancel any course or travel program if it fails to have a minimum enrollment. If this occurs, a full refund will be issued. Please allow thirty days for processing of all refunds.

  • Withdrawals and Refunds

    For credit:Students taking a Wintersession course for credit may drop a course without penalty until the first day of class and receive a 100% refund; students may withdraw after the first class and receive a refund of 50% until the second class; 0% refunded after the second class.

    For non-credit:Students taking a Wintersession course (excluding travel programs) may cancel until the first day of class and receive a 100% refund; 50% on or after the second day of class; 0% there after.

    Participants for Art Basel Miami Beachtravel tour program may cancel up to one week prior by contacting the Continuing Education office, and receive a refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued after November 29, 2012.

  • Professional Development for Teachers (PDP's)

    Montserrat College of Art is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a Professional Development Provider. If you interested in obtaining PDP's for a course, please contact the Continuing Education office at 978.921.4242 x1180. Access to Facilities

    The college public areas are open to CE students. The library hours are posted on the front door of the library and gallery hours are posted online under the "galleries" tab. Access to studios, classrooms and labs require the instructor for the course you are taking to be present.

  • Safety & Health

    It is the responsibility of all students to adhere to the College's verbal and/or written safety instructions and guidelines while on campus. Please visit the Student Handbook online under the "student life" tab for Health and Safety information and more on our policy.

  • Rules and Regulations

    Acceptable behavior is expected while attending a course at Montserrat College of Art. The College Rules and Regulations are listed in our Student Handbook which can be accessed online under the "student life" tab. In some cases, the college may insist that a student withdraw from a course.

  • Accessibility

    Montserrat College of Art's Hardie Building is accessible to persons with disabilities.
